This “Policy for Handling of Personal Data for Europe-Targeted Websites” (this “Policy”) applies where advertisers use the “HotView” service provided by Silver Egg Technology Co., Ltd. (the “Company” or “we”) with respect to their websites or online advertisements that are targeting the European Economic Area (the “EEA”) or the United Kingdom. In accordance with with this Policy, the Company will appropriately handle the personal data (as defined in section 1 below) of the customers located in the EEA or the United Kingdom who view such websites and advertisements, in compliance with the laws and guidelines on the protection of personal data in the EU and the United Kingdom, including, without limitation, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Personal Data Processing
In this Policy, “personal data” refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person collected through the use of HotView with respect to websites or online advertisments provided to the EEA or the United Kingdom by advertisers. This includes the site visitor’s IP address (a number used to identify the computer in use), cookie information, access logs, type of browser, URL of the referring site, etc. In this Policy, “processing” refers to any operation performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means. These operations include, without limitation, the acquisition, recording, editing, structuring, storage, alteration or modification, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction of data.
2. Purposes of Using Personal Data
As a processor on behalf of the advertisers, we process the personal data collected from the websites and online advertisements of the advertisers that the site visitors have browsed, for the following purposes: – To analyze the browsing history of websites and advertisements by site visitors, optimize the advertisements displayed by the advertisers, and measure effectiveness. – For other purposes defined by the advertisers (for more details, please refer to the privacy policy of each advertiser).
3. Retention Period
In order to provide HotView to advertisers, the Company retains the personal data of site visitors for a period that is reasonably necessary. However, once the need for retaining this data ceases, we will promptly proceed to delete it
4. Security
In order to prevent unauthorized access to personal data and the leakage of such data, with a consideration of the type of personal data, the extent of its sensitivity, and the potential economic and emotional harm to site visitors in the event of a data breach, we comprehensively assess and evaluate the risk of personal data infringement, and implement necessary and appropriate human, organizational, and technical security measures in response to these risks.
5. Rights of Site Visitors
Site visitors have access rights, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restriction of processing, right to data portability, right to object to processing, and right not to be subject to automated decision-making, unless their requests are manifestly unfounded or exessive, and to the extent provided in the GDPR or other applicable data protection laws. Please contact the advertisers directly to exercise these rights. Additionally, site visitors have the right to lodge a complaint with regard to the processing of their personal data with a supervisory authority which has jurisdiction over the place where they reside. Site visitors can stop the use of their personal data by HotView at any time by applying through our opt-out page.
